When mastering we was aiming to keep the tracks original sound and just enhance it while also making the track usable for sites like Spotify we work this out by using a yurlean meaner that will tell you what DB your track is at and how many LUFS Spotify recommends that you aim for -1Db and 14 LUFS so that your track sounds the same loudness to other tracks on the platform
we decided to stay with the same set of plugins though out this mastering process these plugins where Oxford EQ, Oxford Compressor, Oxford Inflator and Pro Limiter
we wanted to use all of these plugins sparingly with only a couple of Db for each. so we would first use an EQ to get rid of about one Db of bass from each track as the plugins we are going to apply will add a lot of bass frequencies back. Then start to apply the compressor gently so its only effecting about between 1 to 3 Db so we don't want to crush the sound for the track and then using the inflator to add a bit of a nice sound to the track while also using it too add most of the extra Db that was needed. and then to help get the correct LUFS of 14 we would adjust the celling and threshold of the Limiter but while also trying not to change or crush the sound of the track
